Born in the Philippines and transplanted to Colorado Springs, CO during childhood, Hershey B. Bautista embarked on a journey infused with artistic exploration and hunger for cultural diversity. Graduating with a BFA in painting from a four-year university in Denver, Hershey found a fertile ground for intellectual growth and creative expression. It was in the vibrant atmosphere of Denver where maturity blossomed alongside a deepening passion for the arts, propelling Hershey towards a relentless pursuit of artistic excellence.

In 2014, Hershey furthered their artistic journey by moving to the eclectic cityscape of San Francisco, CA, to pursue an MFA. Over the course of five transformative years, Hershey immersed themselves in the rich tapestry of artistic discourse and creative collaboration, culminating in the successful completion of their Master's degree in 2019.

Balancing academic pursuits with professional endeavors, Hershey worked full-time as a production manager at a design firm while pursuing their Master's degree. This dual commitment underscored Hershey’s unwavering dedication to both their craft and their career aspirations.

During their time in the bay area, Hershey also honed their skills as a muralist, collaborating with various residential areas, schools, small businesses, and corporations. These experiences enriched Hershey's artistic repertoire and provided them with a platform to showcase their talent on a larger scale.

Currently residing in the vibrant community of Oakland, CA, Hershey continues to channel their passion for art into meaningful endeavors. As a dedicated high school art teacher, Hershey nurtures the next generation of aspiring artists, instilling in them the same sense of wonder and curiosity that has defined their own artistic journey.
